Jacqueline de Jong lebt und arbeitet in Amsterdam. Nach ihrer Mitgliedschaft in der Situationistischen Internationale gab sie ab 1962 die Situationist Times heraus. Bis heute arbeitet die Künstlerin mit großer Ausdauer an einem vielschichtigen Werk, dass Malerei, Zeichnung, Plastik und Druckgrafik umfasst. Von ihren zahlreichen Ausstellungsbeteiligungen seien hier stellvertretend nur einige wichtige Stationen der letzten Jahre benannt: The Postwar Avant-Garde and the Culture of Protest 1945-1968 and Beyond in der Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscripts Library, Yale University, New Haven, All the kings Horses im Moderna Museet, Stockholm im Jahr 2012 und The Avant-Garde Won’t Give Up: Cobra and Its Legacy bei Blum & Poe, Los Angeles, 2015. Arbeiten von de Jong finden sich unter anderen in den Sammlungen des Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, dem Cobra Museum voor Hedendaagse Kunst Amstelveen, dem Centre Pompidou, Paris und der Städtischen Galerie im Lenbachhaus, München. Im Frühjahr 2021 zeigt WIELS, Brüssel eine große Werkschau.

Jacqueline de Jong lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Having been a member of the Situationist International until 1962, de Jong edited the Situationist Times in the following years. Meanwhile, she has also been painting, sculpting, drawing and making prints with great perseverance and has been included in numerous important exhibitions, such as The Postwar Avant-Garde and the Culture of Protest 1945-1968 and Beyond at Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscripts Library, Yale University, New Haven, All the kings Horses at Moderna Museet, Stockholm in 2012 and The Avant-Garde Won’t Give Up: Cobra and Its Legacy at Blum & Poe, Los Angeles in 2015. Her work can be found in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Cobrea Museum voor Hedendaagse Kunst Amstelveen, the Centre Pompidou, Paris and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, among others. WIELS, Brussels is showing a retrospective of key works by de Jong in 2021.
